Dr. Brandon Mines is deeply committed to making a difference in underserved communities. As the Deputy Director of Community Outreach for LEWIS, he plays a pivotal role in building bridges between law enforcement and the communities they serve, promoting accountability, equality, and mutual respect.
In 2024, Dr. Mines founded The ORTHO Project, a 501(c)(3) organization, to create and offer unique experiences for minority students interested in the world of sports medicine and related fields. The ORTHO Project is dedicated to introducing students to career paths they may not have otherwise encountered, encouraging exploration, mentorship, and professional growth within sports medicine. Additionally, Dr. Mines serves as an Advisory Board Member for the Partnership for Proactive Health, where he focuses on community engagement and health advocacy.
As a mentor through 100 Black Men of America, Dr. Mines guides young students in academics, career exploration, and the development of social skills, helping to empower the next generation of leaders. He also volunteers as a supervising physician for local high schools and soccer teams in Atlanta, providing both medical care and mentorship to aspiring athletes.

Personal Life and Interests
Dr. Brandon Mines finds balance in his busy professional life by staying deeply connected with his family and engaging in hobbies that allow him to unwind. Living in Atlanta with his wife and three young boys, he cherishes time spent playing and exploring with his children, finding joy in watching them discover the world around them. Their curiosity and enthusiasm remind him to appreciate the simple pleasures in life that are often taken for granted.
An outdoor enthusiast, Dr. Mines enjoys activities like gardening and yard work, which offer him a peaceful escape from the demands of his career. He also has a creative side, which he indulges through his passion for homebrewing—a hobby he began in 2007. Inspired by his Milwaukee roots, Dr. Mines finds homebrewing to be both relaxing and mentally stimulating, giving him a way to recharge while working on something he truly enjoys.
